APK files are a great way to install apps that are not on Google Play. But not all APKs are safe. Some can have viruses or malware that can harm your phone steal data or cause it to crash
Before installing any APK always follow these steps to stay safe
Only Download from Trusted Sites
Always use a well known site like net-mirror.app. These sites scan all APKs and make sure they are clean. Avoid downloading from random websites or pop up ads
Scan the APK Online
After download go to virustotal.com
Upload the APK file there
It will check the file using 50 plus antivirus tools
If even one or two show warning better not install it
Check App Permissions
Before installing go to APK info page and read what permissions it asks
If a music app wants access to camera or SMS then that is a red flag
Always check if the permissions match the app function
Avoid Modified or Hacked APKs
Apps with names like mod premium unlocked are often modified
They might work but they can be full of hidden code
Unless you fully trust the source better to skip such APKs
Keep Your Phone Protected
Always keep Google Play Protect on
Use a basic antivirus app
Avoid giving full access to unknown apps
Safety is more important than free features
